Retraining Racehorses

- Online Programme!

If you want to retrain a racehorse, you do not need to be a billionaire, qualified as a vet and willing to spend the next ten years of your life with a fire breathing dragon that you sometimes attempt to take out.

OTTBs are not a different species, they are still just horses. They are horses that started their life in a particular way, and are now ready to step into their new career, with YOU.

This course takes you through all of it. From understanding what racehorses do and do not know, to choosing a suitable horse, to feeding an OTTB, to fitting gear, to training both on the ground and under saddle.

It goes right through from when your horse finishes its racing career to their competition/pleasure/pony club days.

It includes 53 lessons (with more being added as we go) that take all of my own experience retraining OTTBs (we're talking 20 years, 100s of horses, up to 5***** eventing, but also rehoming as pleasure and trail horses for clients).

It really is everything you need to retrain a racehorse happily, with ease, and with an amazing relationship!

So don't just share #bethechange, but actually BE the change that racehorses are so in need of!

At only $500AUD, my aim is to save you thousands in poor decisions, extra training, wasted feed, vet bills... and all those other things we are told are part of taking on an OTTB.

I want to help you not only succeed with one OTTB, but to improve the life of every OTTB you encounter from here on in.

I want you to feel confident, empowered, and able to stay totally in connection with your horses.

I want your riding to be a dream, not a nightmare.

But more than all that (sorry) I really care the most about the horses you will encounter. I want a better life for OTTBs once they finish their racing career. I want to keep them out of saleyards, I want them to avoid harsh training methods, I want them to stay in a long term home rather than swapping from one hand to another,

In essence, the course includes every question I've ever faced, or been asked about Thoroughbreds and retraining them!

Plus in 2024, we will commence monthly live zoom Q+A for all enrolled students. So we can really dig into what YOU want to know with your Thoroughbred!

About Me

My name is Keira Byrnes. My life is one that has been surrounded by the fabulous OTTB, and creating a better world for these horses really is one of my life's callings.

I took my own OTTB, Fox Hill (raced as Trust No One) all the way through to 5***** level eventing, grand prix jumping, and medium level dressage.

Over the years I have had the joy of working with over 100 OTTBs, both ones I have taken off the track and retrained (as eventers, pleasure horses, pony club horses, trail horses, therapy horses... etc!), as well as clients' horses.

I've also worked as a coach for hundreds of riders who have been on OTTBs, showing them how to produce calm, reliable, wonderful horses, for whatever discipline they are interested in.

On top of that I am a qualified chiropractor, and equine bodyworker, with a passion for holistic equine rehabilitation. There is even a module in this course that centres around bodywork, hoof care, and other ways we can make sure our OTTBs are comfortable and happy.
